Ones to Watch 2015As the 2015 freestyle skateboarding contest season draws ever closer, we thought we would take a look forward and make our predictions for the freestylers we expect big things from this year. Last year, 2 of our picks took the top spot in freestyle contests and the other 3 nailed some incredible NBD tricks, so this years list should not disappoint!

Denham Hill

2014 was Denham’s first year back on the board after taking some time out to pursue other pursuits: most likely involving fish. This year, Denham will be back for the NASS festival demos and making the trip out to Paderborn for his first freestyle contest. With lightning fast flip-trickery, some crazy truck transfers and whispers of a 360 carousel, you won’t regret following Denham this year!

Tomo Koyano

One of the most underrated freestylers, Tomo has developed a smooth style and a diverse bag of tricks. Making it to the semifinals of the JFSA battle format contest, Tomo has demonstrated he can skate excellently in both contests and video parts. Definitely a rising talent in Japan to watch out for!

Marcio Torres

The Brazilian freestyle scene has gone from strength to strength over the last few years, hosting many fantastic contests including the recent Big Freestyle Contest in Rio. One of the top up and coming talents is a freestylers named Marcio Torres who has some absolutely insane tricks in his repertoire! His handstand flips to crossfoot are beautiful, he has a nifty little frontflip contest run ender and his video parts are insane!

Dillanger Kane

Aside from having one of the coolest names in freestyle, there’s very little we know about this Canadian freestyler. The one thing we do know is that he can skate – well. There isn’t much footage of Dillanger, but his 2014 World Round Up finals runs showed some real potential. Dillanger will be returning to the World Round Up this year, so make sure you tune in to the live stream and check him out!

Tony Gale

Having taken a few years out from the competitive freestyle scene, Tony Gale is back with a vengeance! This year, Tony will be heading out to the Paderborn BBQ freestyle contest, along with Bob Loftin, Simon Mrozinski and a few other UK freestylers. After releasing several heavy video parts in 2014 and turning pro for Jimmy’Z, we know what Tony’s capable of, so keep your eyes peeled for an amazing incredible contest run.

These are just a few of our picks for freestyle skateboarders to watch out for over the coming months, but we’d love to hear your thoughts on top performing or up and coming freestylers. Join the discussion on the LateTricks Facebook page or on Twitter @fslatetricks.
