When is it

The event is held at the Royal Bath & West Showground, UK, between the Thursday 11th and Saturday 13th of July 2013

Format

The event will be comprised of 16 riders. 8 Riders will be prequalified with 8 wildcard spots available, to be applied for online and approved by the community.

Skaters will compete in one-on–one heats, with match ups being selected at random one week preceding the event. The winner of each heat will proceed to the next round where they will play the winner of another heat. In addition to this, there will also be a battle between the semi-final runner ups to determine third and fourth place

Rules

This years Game of Skate Championships at NASS will follow “Berrics Rules”. As such, the following rules are in place:

• No Feet on the ground – ie, no bonelesses or no complys
• No Handplants
• No Grabs
• Popped tricks must be matched as popped tricks
• Last Letter gets two attempts
• Offensive toe drag gets one do over
• Defensive toe drag has a bigger margin for error but will be settled by an independent referee

Entry Fee

The fee to enter the NASS Game of Skate Championship will be £20

Judges

The contests will be judged by independent skaters selected on the date of the contest who can be relied upon for sound judgement.

Prizes

The prizes for the event will be comprised partly from event entry fees and partly from sponsorship. Once we have a realistic expectation of the number of riders in attendance and level of sponsorship, full details will be available on this page.

The sign up page for the event is located Here. Under “Division” please select Game of Skate. Under Bio, please submit your contest history and a video link of your flatland skating. Once you have completed the form, a member of the team will be in touch shortly to notify you of the next step for your application.

There are eight wildcard spots for riders to compete for. The deadline for submission of these spots is May 31st. There will be a range of events to win your chance to get into the contest, so register for the event now and we’ll get in touch with all the information as soon as it comes in!

Watching the Event

If you would like to attend the event only to watch, tickets are available from the NASS website. These tickets grant you full access to all events at the festival, including all other action sport events and access to see all artists performing, and are definitely worth investing in for the authentic NASS experience.

Full Heats from the event will also be available online following the event on the LateTricks YouTube page. The team are working on other alternatives to get the footage to you quicker, and we will keep you posted as to any updates.

Accommodation

All riders entering the contest will be provided with a camping pass for the duration of the event.
