Event Information

This event took place at the Oasis Skatepark in San Diego and was considered to be a pivotal moment for freestyle skateboarding. This was Rodney Mullen’s first major contest victory, beating the favourite, Steve Rocco, by less than one point. Tim Scroggs, Doug “Pineapple” Saladino, Tomy Jenson and Phil Jetton also competed at this contest but their placings are not known. Tara Kaylor was the only professional female freestyler at the event and performed an unofficial routine.
